Kashmir—often called “Paradise on Earth”—had been on my bucket list for a while, and this April, I finally made it happen! Over the course of a week, I explored the breathtaking beauty of Srinagar, glided through the serene waters of Dal Lake, and experienced the thrill of snow adventures in Gulmarg.
Srinagar: The City of Gardens & Lakes

My journey began in Srinagar, the heart of Kashmir, where spring had painted the landscape in a riot of colors. The highlight? The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden. Walking through rows of vibrant tulips with the Zabarwan Mountains in the background was like stepping into a postcard. The garden was in full bloom, a rare sight that only lasts for a few weeks each year!
Later, I took a shikara ride on Dal Lake, an experience that truly defines Kashmir. Drifting over the tranquil waters, with floating markets and houseboats all around, I felt like time had slowed down. The golden hues of the sunset reflecting on the lake made the moment even more magical.

Gulmarg: Winter Wonderland in April
Next, I headed to Gulmarg, Kashmir’s famous winter sports destination. Even in April, the snow-covered slopes were perfect for adventure. The Gulmarg Gondola, one of the highest cable cars in the world, took me to Apharwat Peak, offering breathtaking views of the snow-capped Himalayas. The higher I went, the more surreal it felt.
But the most exciting part? Snow surfing! I had never tried surfing on snow before, but I decided to go for it. It was an exhilarating experience—sliding down the slopes, feeling the chill in the air, and soaking in the thrill of the ride. Definitely one of the best highlights of my trip!

Why You Should Visit Kashmir in April

✅ Tulip Season – The tulip garden is open only for a few weeks in spring.
✅ Perfect Weather – Srinagar is pleasant and colorful, while Gulmarg still has snow.
